Bertin Technologies has developed an innovative physico-chemical analysis method, for the rapid identification of the atomic composition of a material. The technique can analyze any type of material (polymers, metals, refractories, glass, rock, liquid, etc.) for process control, waste sorting or contaminant detection.
LIBS (Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) or LIPS (Laser-Induced Plasma Spectroscopy) technology is a laser spectroscopy analytical method.
The physical principle is based on a high-temperature plasma generation with a short-pulse laser.
A pulsed laser beam is focused on a target to evaporate it and to generate a plasma. This emits photons, which are analyzed by an optical spectrometer. The analysis of the plasma emission produces a ray spectrum, characterizing the atomic composition of the material.
